Teachers Recruitment Board Applications are invited upto 5.30 p.m. on 05.03.2012 for direct recruitment to the vacancies for the year 2012 in the following post :

Abbreviations Stands for :

Reservations in TRB Vacancies 2012 :

Candidates claiming reservation under the following disabilities should possess certificates to that effect as mentioned below:

(a) Visually Impaired :

Candidates should possess certificate in prescribed format from Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon for one of the following:

• Total absence of sight on both eyes, or
• Visual acuity not exceeding 6 / 60 or 20 / 200 ( snellen ) in the better eye with correcting lenses or
• Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse. One – eyed visually impaired persons cannot claim reservation against Visually Impaired category.

(b) Physically Challenged :

• Candidates claiming reservation under the Differently – abled ( Physically Challenged ) category should possess certificate in prescribed format from Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon for at least 40% disability.
• Physically Challenged Persons may also apply if they fully satisfy all the prescribed Teacher Recruitment Board qualifications 2012. The case of each such applicant will be considered on merits for the posts concerned, if the applicant is found to be otherwise suitable and if the medical authorities are satisfied that the physical handicap is not such as would render him incapable of efficiently discharging the duties of the post for which he is selected as per G.O. Ms. No. 704, Public ( Services – A ) Department, Dated 15th April 1964.

Note :

All Certificates should have been obtained prior to the last date for submission of filled – in TRB Exam Applications announced in the TRB recruitment notification published in Newspapers.

(c) Communal reservation for GT, BC, BC Muslim, MBC / DNC, SC, SCA and ST will be as follows :

• 26.5% for Backward Class, 3.5% for Backward Class Muslim, 20% for Most Backward Class, 18% for Scheduled Caste ( which includes the special reservation for Arunthathiars on preferential basis ) and 1% for Scheduled Tribe Candidates.
• The General Turn TRB Assistant Professor 2012 vacancies will be 31%. The reservation of vacancies for Women is 30%. Orthopaedically Physically Challenged ( 1% ) and Blind ( 1% ) will be followed as per Government orders in force. Reservation for Blind ( 1% ) will be applicable in the case of Non – Science Subjects only.

Qualifications for Teachers Recruitment Board Vacancies 2012 :

(A) Age Limit for Assistant Professor Jobs 2012 : Candidates should not have completed 57 years of age as on 01.07.2012 both for Engineering and Non – Engineering Subjects.

(B) Educational Qualification for Assistant Professor Recruitment 2012 :

(i) Assistant Professor in Engineering Subjects :

• Candidates should possess the following qualifications on the date of Notification viz., 11.02.2012 B.E. or B.Tech. and M.E. or M.Tech. in the relevant branch of Engineering or Technology with First Class or its equivalent either in B.E. or B.Tech. or M.E. or M.Tech.

(ii) Assistant Professor in Non – Engineering Subjects ( English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry ) :

• Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with good academic record of not less than 55% of marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average ( CGPA ) from an Indian University or an equivalent Degree from a foreign University.
• Pass in the National Eligibility Test ( NET ) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research ( CSIR ) or similar test accredited by the University Grants Commission.

Provided that holders of Ph.D. Degree are exempted from passing the said test.

(C) Equivalent Qualification for Assistant Professor 2012 :

If a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subject possessed by him / her is equivalent to though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, he / she has to produce the letter of equivalence issued by the competent authority of the University which has awarded the degree. However, the claim would be subject to the decision of the Equivalence Committee constituted as per G.O.Ms. No.441, P & AR ( R ), Department, Dated 20.12.1993 and the decision of the Government.

The candidate should have obtained the equivalence certificate on or before the last date for submission of the TRB Assistant Professor Vacancies application form 2012. The same should be produced at the time of Certificate Verification without fail; otherwise, the selection will be summarily rejected.

(A) Age Limit for Lecturer Recruitment in TRB 2012 ( as on 01.07.2012 ) :

Candidates should not have completed 57 years of age as on 01.07.2012 both for Engineering and Non – Engineering Subjects.

(B) TRB Educational Qualification for Lecturer Jobs 2012 :

(i) TRB Lecturer Jobs in Engineering Subjects :

Candidates should possess the following qualifications on the date of Notification viz., 27.02.2012. A First Class Bachelor’s Degree in the Branch of Engineering relating to the Post Concerned.

(ii) Teachers Recruitment Board Lecturer Vacancies in Non – Engineering Subjects ( English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry ) :

A First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate Branch of Study.

(C) Equivalent Qualification for TRB Jobs 2012 :

Communal Reservation for TRB Jobs 2012 :

Communal reservations and reservation for Tamil Medium students are followed as per G.O.Ms.No. 65 Personnel and Administrative Reforms (K) Department, dated: 27.05.2009, G.O.Ms.No. 145 Personnel and Reforms (S) Department dated 30.09.2010 and Government letter No.20635/K2/2009-3 dated 27.05.2009. Reservation for G.T, BC, MBC/DNC, SC, ST and BC Muslims will as follows : GT 31% Backward Class ( other than Muslims ) – 26.5% Backward Class Muslims – 3.5% Most Backward Class /Denotified Communities / 20% Scheduled Caste – 18% ( which includes special reservation for Scheduled Caste Arunthathiars on preferential basis ) Scheduled Tribe – 1% The reservation of vacancies for women 30%.

Special Reservation for Teachers Recruitment Board 2012 :

Reservation for the physically challenged will be followed as per the following G.Os. :

Physically Challenged ( 1% ) and visually impaired ( 1% ) will be followed as per Government orders in force.

Reservation for visually impaired ( 2% ) will be applicable in the case of Non – Science subjects only. For science subject 3% reservation will be applicable for physically challenged only.

Qualifications for Teachers Recruitment Board Vacancies 2012 :

Candidates should possess M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. in the relevant subject with B.Ed. As per G.O.Ms.No. 361 School Education Department dated 31.12.1999. Candidates should have studied the same subject in Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree, both for academic subjects and Languages. For the post of Physical Education Director – Grade – I, the candidates should have any Bachelor’s Degree with M.P.Ed. Degree.

All degrees should be from UGC / NCTE recognised Universities only. The candidate should possess knowledge of Tamil of 10th Standard level. The candidates should apply only for which the vacancies are notified and subject code numbers assigned. The candidates applying for the posts mentioned should have passed Tamil Language as Part I or Part II up to SSLC and PUC / Higher Secondary Course levels. If not, he / she should pass Tamil Language Text conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within two years from the date of their appointment.

Equivalent Qualifications for TRB Recruitment 2012 :

If a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subject possessed by him / her is equivalent to though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment , he / she has to produce the letter of equivalence issued by the competent authority i.e. Government of Tamil Nadu. However, the claim would be subject to the decision of the Equivalence Committee constituted as per G.O.Ms.No.441, P & AR (R) Department, dated 20-12-1993 and the decision of the Government.

Employment Registration :

Only those candidates who have registered in Professional and Executive Employment Office, Chennai for Postgraduate Assistant or Physical Education Director – Grade I on or before the last date for submission of filled – in Teachers Recruitment Board Job applications, and who hold updated registration card are eligible to apply for the posts.

Age Limit for Teachers Recruitment Board Jobs 2012 :

Candidates should not be over 57 years as on 1-7-2012 as the age of superannuation is 58 years.
