Closing date and time for the receipt of Western Railway application form is 27.12.2010 at 18.00 hrs.

Western Railway Applications are invited from Indian National Ex-Servicemen who fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below for filling up the following posts in Pay Band-1 of 5200-20200/- with Grade Pay of 1800/- (erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts) in Western Railway.

The last date of receipt of Western Railway applications is up to 18.00 hrs of 27/12/2010.

1. Eligibility Criteria for WR Recruitment 2010 : Ex-Servicemen who have retired after putting in 15 years of service and have passed Army Class-I certificate or equivalent are eligible to apply.

2. Age Limit for WR 2010 : (As on 01-01-2011).

• UR : 18 to 33 years.
• OBC : 18 to 36 years.
• SC / ST : 18 to 38 years.

2.1 Extent of Age Relaxation : Ex-Servicemen who have put in not less than six months continuous service will be given relaxation in age limit to the extent of period of service plus three years.

3. WR 2010 Exam Fee : There is no examination fee.

4. Mode of selection for WR Vacancies 2010 :

4.1 The recruitment shall be on the basis of scrutiny of WR application form and the ex-serviceman should be medically fit for the job being considered for.

4.2 There will be no written examination / interview or Physical Efficiency Test.

4.3 The panel will be formed on the basis of their length of military service.

5. Medical Examination : The candidates who are empanelled, will be subject to Medical Fitness Examination and as per medical classification they will be further considered for appointment based on vacancies available for that medical category.

6. Filling up of Western Railway applications 2010 :

6.1 Eligible Ex-Servicemen should submit their Western Railway applications in the format enclosed to the notification. Applications should be made on good quality A4 size (210 mm x 297 mm) white paper using one side only.

6.2 Western Railway Applications in any other format would be rejected. The applications should be filled in by the candidates in their own handwriting either in English or in Hindi and not in any other language.

7. WR Application Form 2010 :

7.1 The filled-in Western Railway applications along with the required documents should be send to the following address.

The WR application form should be sent by post so as to reach this office before the closing date and time mentioned above or should be dropped in the box provided at the Railway Recruitment Cell, 2nd Floor, GLO Building, HQ Office, Churchgate, Mumbai before closing date (Up to 18.00 hrs of 27.12.2010).

7.2 For candidates staying in Andaman-Nicobar-Lakshadweep Islands, the closing date will be 15 days beyond the closing date on production of certificate.

7.3 The envelope containing the WR application form should be against Ex-Servicemen Quota”. Applications received after the closing time and date will not be considered.

7.3 Western Railway Applications sent by Courier will not be acknowledged. However, the agencies can drop the applications in the box kept in the office premises.

8. Enclosures : Self Attested Xerox copies of following certificates.

8.1 A Xerox copy of the discharge certificate / book.

8.2 Army Class–I Certificate or equivalent.

8.3 Proof of Date of Birth.

8.4 Candidates belonging to SC / ST community should produce a community certificate. Candidates belonging to OBC community should also produce a community certificate. In addition, they should submit a declaration.

8.5 Physically handicapped certificate, if applicable.

8.6 One passport size photograph (not older than 3 months) without wearing cap & goggles / coloured glasses has to be pasted in the WR application form format and not stapled or pinned.

8.7 Two self addressed envelopes with duly affixed postal stamps.

9. General Instructions for Western Railway Recruitment 2010 :

9.1 Vacancies shown are provisional and are liable to be increased or decreased.

9.2 Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in Western Railway.

9.3 Before applying for the post, candidate should ensure that he fulfills the eligibility criteria.

9.4 Western Railway Applications of candidates not fulfilling the requisite criteria are liable to be rejected at any stage of recruitment and if appointed erroneously, their services are liable to be terminated.

9.5 Candidates should submit only one WR application form mentioning the category-wise priority. Candidates submitting more than one application form will not be considered and even if such a candidate gets selected, he will not be appointed.

9.6 Candidates trying to use influence or unfair means would be disqualified.

9.7 Debarred candidates need not apply unless their debarration period expires.

9.8 The selection of candidates by RRC–WR does not confer any right for the candidate for appointment.

9.9 RRC-WR shall not be held responsible for any inadvertent error or mistake, postal delays, wrong delivery, whatsoever at any stage of selection.

9.10 The appointment of candidate will be provisional and subject to their being found suitable after antecedent and certificate verification.

9.11 In case of any dispute, English version of the Employment Notice will be treated as valid.

9.12 For any legal dispute, the Jurisdiction will be of Central Administrative Tribunal–Mumbai.

10. Invalid Western Railway Applications 2010 :

The Western Railway applications having any of the following irregularities will be summarily rejected :

10.1 Western Railway Applications not submitted in prescribed format as given in this employment notice.

10.2 Incomplete or illegible Western Railway applications, or applications not filled with black ink / black ball point pen, or applications with overwriting, cutting or erasing marks.

10.3 Unsigned / undated Western Railway applications / applications without clear and smudged thumb impressions and / or without Marks of Identification.

10.4 Without photograph or affixing / attaching Xerox copy of Photograph.

10.5 Different signatures in box below the Photo and on WR Application form.

10.6 Western Railway Applications not filled in English or Hindi or not filled by candidate in his own hand writing.

10.7 Without proper certificates, in respect of Ex-servicemen and SC / ST / OBC. Caste Certificate should be obtained from the appropriate authority in the prescribed format.

10.8 Western Railway Applications received after 18.00 hrs. on closing date by any means / modes.

10.9 Photo copies of the certificates not attested.

10.10 More than one WR application form in one Name or sent in one envelope.

10.11 Any other deemed irregularity.

11. Railway Recruitment Cell Decision Final :

The decision of RRC-WR in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the Western Railway applications, issue of free rail passes, penalty for false information, mode of selection, allotment of posts / places to selected candidates and all other matters related with conduct of recruitment process will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
