Sub : SCR Railway Recruitment against Sports Quota against Open Advertisement for the year 2012 – 13.

SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 Applications are invited from eligible sports persons in the prescribed format ( Annexure – I ) for filling up of 12 ( Twelve ) vacancies in Group C and 16 ( Sixteen ) vacancies in erstwhile Group D categories in the Pay Band and Grade Pay indicated below under Sports quota against Open Advertisement over South Central Railway.

Age Limit for SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 :

18 to 25 years as on 01.01.2013 ( No relaxation in lower or upper age limit for any category of candidates ).

Educational Qualifications for SCR Railway Sports Quota Jobs 2013 :

(i) Qualification For SCR Railway Group C Recruitment against Sports Quota 2013 :

(a) 10th class pass or above for those candidates applying for the posts with Grade Pay 1900/-.

(b) Graduation from any recognized University for those candidates applying for the post with Grade Pay of 2800/-.

(ii) Qualification for SCR Railway Group D Recruitment against Sports Quota 2013 :

SSC or 8th passed ( for outstanding sportspersons* ). Candidates applying for posts in Grade Pay 1800/- and who have the qualification of 8th passed will be appointed in ( – ) 1S Pay Band.

Such sportspersons will be given the regular pay band of PB – 1 5200 – 20200 along with Grade Pay of 1800/- only on acquiring the minimum educational qualification under the recruitment rules or passing the requisite training test. ( * Sportspersons having the sports norms for recruitment in Grade Pay 1900 / 2000 or above shall only be considered as ‘ Outstanding ’ ).

Categorization of International Championships :

For recruitment purpose, International Championships / events are categorized as under :

Commonwealth Games ( Senior category ).

Sports norms for SCR Railway recruitment of sportspersons in different Pay Band & Grade Pays :

1. The minimum sports norms for recruitment of sportspersons against sports quota through open advertisement in different Grade Pay & Pay Bands for team and individual events shall be as under :

(a) In Athletics, Medal winning performance in National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships, may also be considered for recruitment against the posts having the Grade Pay 1,900 in Pay Band 5,200 – 20,200.

(b) In Badminton sports persons may also be considered for recruitment on the basis of their current Annual All India Rankings; in different Grade Pay and Pay Bands, as per following criteria :

The above norms in the related sports discipline should have been attained after 01.04.2010.

(c) In Cricket ( Men and Women ) at International level, representation of Main Indian Seniors Team in a Test Match or in a Limited Overs One Day International Match or in a Twenty – 20 overs Match ; shall also be considered for recruitment against the posts having Grade Pay 1900/- or 2,000/- in Pay Band 5200 – 20,200.

(d) In Cricket at National levels, following sports achievements in 4 days / One Day Limited Overs / Twenty – 20 Overs Men / Women Cricket Championships ( except Vizzy Trophy organized under the aegis of BCCI ; may also be considered for recruitment against the posts having Grade Pay 1800/- or 1900/- in Pay Band 5200 – 20200 ).

SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment Application Fees 2013 :

40/- for post in Grade Pay 1800/- or 1900/- and 60/- for those in Grade Pay 2400 / 2800/-.

SCR Railway Sports Quota Vacancy Application Fee should be paid in the form of crossed Bank Draft / Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer, South Central Railway payable at Secunderabad for the posts of Headquarters and Senior Divisional Finance Managers of respective divisions for the divisional posts. The fee is not refundable under any circumstances.

Candidates belonging to SC / ST communities, Women, Minority and Economically Backward Classes ( Family income is less than 50,000/- per annum ) are exempted from the payment of SCR Railway Application fees 2013.

How to Apply for SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 :

(i) SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 Application should be filled by the candidate in his / her own handwriting in either English or in Hindi.

(ii) SCR Railway Sports Quota Vacancy Application should be on a good quality A – 4 size paper using one side only. News paper cutting should not be used as an application.

(iii) A passport size colour photograph should be pasted in the space provided on the SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 application.

(iv) The candidate should also attach two recent passport size colour photographs ( same as the one affixed on the SCR Railway application form ) and it should be clipped along with the SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment application form 2013.

(v) The candidate should also submit two self addressed unstamped envelopes ( size 23 cms x 10 cms. ) along with his / her SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 application.

(vi) Serving employee should apply through proper channel.

Whom to address :

(a) For Group ‘ C ’ and Group ‘ D ’ posts ( at Headquarters ) applications should be sent by Ordinary post only and sent to the following address and so as to reach the officer on or before the closing date. SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 Selection Process :

(i) SCR Railway Selection is based on total marks obtained by the candidates.

The distribution of marks is as under :

(ii) Trials of the candidates shall be conducted to assess their sports performance and suitability for Railway / Unit team as well as Indian Railways team. Trial Committee shall give its recommendation in terms of either Fit or Not Fit for consideration for next stage, by giving marks ( maximum 40 marks ), as per the criteria given below :

• For game skill, physical fitness and : 40 Marks Coach’s observations during Trials.
• Fit Candidate : Candidate securing 25 marks or more.
• Not Fit candidate : Candidate securing marks below 25.

Enclosures to be attached :

(i) Attested copy of certificate in proof of age.

(ii) Attested copy of certificate in proof of caste.

(iii) Attested copies of certificate in proof of Educational Qualifications.

(iv)Attested copies of certificates in proof of sports achievements.

(v) Two passport size colour photographs.

(vi) Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft.

(vii) Two self addressed unstamped envelopes.

(viii) Income certificate in the cases of exemption of fees.

Legal Matters :

Any legal matter arising out of the Employment Notice shall fall within the legal jurisdiction of Central Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad only.

Important instructions for SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 :

The decision of Railway Administration in connection with the selection is final. For non selection of the candidates no correspondence will be entertained. The Railway Administration will not be responsible for any postal delay or wrong delivery. Canvassing in any firm will disqualify the candidate.

SCR Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2013 Applications which suffer from the defects such as unsigned, incomplete, illegible applications, applications without enclosures, without prescribed fee, applications not on the prescribed format, without attested copies of certificate / testimonials and the application which in the opinion of Railway Administration are otherwise invalid, will be rejected at any stage.
