For the posts at S.Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7, for which certain amount of experience is prescribed as part of eligibility criteria, only interview will be used to screen the candidates and prepare the merit list. If, however, the number of valid applications for any of these posts exceeds 400, a written test will be held to shortlist the candidates for interview.

a) Wherever a JMRC Recruitment written test or speed test is prescribed or held, such written test/ speed test will carry 90 marks, while interview shall carry 10 marks. Where only interview is prescribed and held, it will carry full weightage of 100 marks.

b) The written test and other screening tests shall be aimed at testing the skills of the candidate in languages, general knowledge & awareness, general science, computer proficiency, quantitative aptitude, logical ability, reasoning and / or his / her domain knowledge, skills, competencies, personality traits and job-related specific abilities. Medical Fitness Test will form an integral part of the selection process.

c) The screening process involves various stages of screening and a candidate will have to qualify at each stage ( including Medical Fitness Test ) as prescribed, before being selected / appointed.

d) The screening process for each post is detailed below :

1. JMRC Recruitment for the Post of Junior Accountant

Stage – I : Written Test for Post of Junior Accountant – 90 marks :

The maximum time permitted for the written test shall be 135 minutes, and it shall carry 120 questions for a total of 90 marks. The questions shall be multiple choice objective type, with 0.75 marks being awarded for each right answer and 0.25 marks being deducted for each wrong answer. Minimum pass marks shall be 40 % for all candidates other than SC / ST Category candidates and 35 % for SC / ST Category candidates. The indicative scheme of the question paper ( i.e., approximate number of questions ± 10% ) shall be as follows :

i. Commerce and Accounts related – 60 questions ii. General Knowledge & Awareness, including General Science – 15 questions iii. Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Ability and Reasoning – 15 questions iv. Computer Awareness – 10 questions v. English Comprehension – 10 questions vi. Hindi Comprehension – 10 questions

Stage – II : Interview – 10 marks :

The focus of interview will be on personality traits, including communication skills, of the candidates. There will be no minimum pass marks for the interview, but failure to appear in interview will disqualify the candidate.

Stage – III : Medical Fitness Test ( Qualifying Test ) :

All candidates placed on the final merit list or panel of wait listed candidates shall have to undergo and pass medical fitness test as prescribed by JMRC. Failure to appear in medical fitness test at the appointed date and time will disqualify the candidate.

2. JMRC Recruitment For the Post of Stenographer ( English )

Stage – I : Speed Test for the Post of Stenographer ( English ) :

A. Speed Test in Hindi – Qualifying :

Since, under the JMRC recruitment rules, preference is to be given to persons who also possess a speed of at least 60 words per minute in Hindi shorthand; and transcription and typing speed of 35 words per minute in Hindi on computer, in the first instance only those candidates who claim to possess the qualifying speeds both in English and Hindi will be called to appear in a Speed Test in Hindi and qualify the same.

B. Speed Test in English – 90 marks :

All those candidates who are found to possess the minimum qualifying speed in Hindi will be called to appear in a Speed Test in English. Names of those who are found to possess a minimum qualifying speed of at least 80 words per minute in English shorthand; and transcription and typing speed of 40 words per minute in English on computer will be arranged in order of merit based solely on their performance in this speed test in English, to prepare a call list for interview.

Note : If no candidate possessing the qualifying speed both in Hindi and English is available for appointment, all the candidates will be directly admitted to Speed Test in English.

Stage – II: Interview – 10 marks :

The focus of interview will be on personality traits, including communication skills, of the candidates. There will be no minimum pass marks for the interview, but failure to appear in interview will disqualify the candidate.

Stage – III: Medical Fitness Test ( Qualifying Test ) :

All candidates placed on the final merit list or panel of wait listed candidates shall have to undergo and pass medical fitness test as prescribed by JMRC. Failure to appear in medical fitness test at the appointed date and time will disqualify the candidate.

3. For all other Posts, i.e., the Posts of Deputy General Manager ( Town Planning ), Deputy General Manager ( Law ), Company Secretary, Legal Officer, Hardware & Network Assistant

A. In case the number of valid applications is 400 or less

Stage – I: Interview – 100 marks :

The focus of interview will be on domain knowledge, experience profile, general awareness and personality traits, including communication skills, of the candidates. Minimum pass marks shall be 40 % for all candidates other than SC / ST Category candidates and 35 % for SC / ST Category candidates.

Stage – II: Medical Fitness Test ( Qualifying Test ) :

All candidates placed on the final merit list or panel of wait listed candidates shall have to undergo and pass medical fitness test as prescribed by JMRC. Failure to appear in medical fitness test at the appointed date and time will disqualify the candidate.

B. In case the number of valid applications exceeds 400

Stage – I: Written Test for JMRC Recruitment – 90 marks :

The focus of interview will be on experience profile and personality traits, including communication skills, of the candidates. There will be no minimum pass marks for the interview, but failure to appear in interview will disqualify the candidate.

Stage – III: Medical Fitness Test ( Qualifying Test ) :

All candidates placed on the final merit list or panel of wait listed candidates shall have to undergo and pass medical fitness test as prescribed by JMRC. Failure to appear in medical fitness test at the appointed date and time will disqualify the candidate.

e) Wherever a JMRC Recruitment written test or speed test is prescribed or held, the call list for Interview would be limited to the number of candidates who have obtained minimum pass marks in the written test/ speed test, subject to a maximum of 5 times the number of vacancies in each category, in order of marks obtained in the written test/ speed test.

Note : If more than one candidate is placed at the cut-off point (rounded off to two decimal points) of the merit list of JMRC Recruitment written test/ speed test, all such candidates would be included in the call list for Interview.

f) Final merit list for each post shall be prepared as under :

i) Posts for which a JMRC Recruitment written test or speed test is held: from among candidates who have obtained minimum pass marks in the written test/ speed test, in order of the total marks obtained in (a) written test/ speed test and (b) interview, and after disqualifying candidates who have not appeared in the interview, subject to their passing the medical fitness test. If more than one candidate is placed at the cut-off point (without any rounding off) of the final merit list, the candidate who is senior in age would be preferred.

ii) Posts for which only interview is held: from among candidates who have obtained minimum pass marks in the interview, in order of the total marks obtained in interview, subject to their passing the medical fitness test. If more than one candidate is placed at the cut-off point ( without any rounding off ) of the final merit list, the candidate who is senior in age would be preferred.

g) Dates of interview / speed test / written test, results thereof and all other JMRC recruitment related information shall be available on JMRC website. Candidates are required to regularly visit the website and check for updates.

h) Wherever a JMRC Recruitment written test is held, question papers shall be bilingual ( i.e., in Hindi and English ). However, Hindi Comprehension Questions shall only be in Hindi and English Comprehension Questions shall only be in English.

Indicative Syllabus for JMRC Recruitment 2013 :

a) The standard of domain / discipline related questions will be commensurate with the educational qualification & experience specified for the concerned post. The standard of other questions would also be such as may be reasonably expected of a candidate having the educational qualification & experience specified for the post.

b) The JMRC Recruitment written test/ speed test, if applicable, would mainly cover the subjects/ topics/ activities indicated as follows :

1) For the Post of Junior Accountant

i) Commerce and Accounts related – topics will be separately announced and published on JMRC website, before the written test is scheduled / held.

ii) General Knowledge & Awareness – Current Affairs, Economy, Polity, Culture, History, Geography and Natural Resources of India, with special focus on Rajasthan.

iii) General Science – Live processes, Control and co-ordination in animals and plants, Electric current, Magnetic effects of current, Reflection of light, Refraction, Natural resources and Environment.

iv) Quantitative Aptitude – Ratio and Proportion, Percentages and Averages, Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, LCM and HCF, Simple and Compound Interest.

v) Logical Ability and Reasoning – Data Interpretation, Venn Diagram, Inductive Logic, Puzzles, Coding and decoding, Number Series, Blood Relations, Arrangements.

vi) Computer Awareness – Input and Output devices, Latest trends in IT, Computer Networks, Operating System, E- Mail and Internet, MS-Office.

vii) English Comprehension – Comprehension passage in English with questions in English only.

viii) Hindi Comprehension – Comprehension passage in Hindi with questions in Hindi only.

2) For the Post of Stenographer ( English )

i) Speed Test in Hindi: A Hindi shorthand test consisting of Hindi dictation followed by transcription and typing of dictated passage in Hindi on computer.

ii) Speed Test in English: A English shorthand test consisting of English dictation followed by transcription and typing of dictated passage in English on computer.

3) For all other Posts, i.e., Posts of Deputy General Manager ( Town Planning ), Deputy General Manager ( Law ), Company Secretary, Legal Officer, Hardware & Network Assistant

i) Domain / Discipline related – topics will be separately announced and published on JMRC website, if a JMRC Recruitment written test is required to be held.

ii) General Knowledge & Awareness – Current Affairs, Economy, Polity, Culture, History, Geography and Natural Resources of India, with special focus on Rajasthan.

Centres and Venues for JMRC Written Test 2013 :

i) The JMRC Recruitment interview / speed test / written test will be conducted at Jaipur. However, JMRC may have additional centres at Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar and Udaipur, if needed for logistic reasons.

ii) JMRC reserves the right to allot and change centres and venues at its discretion, which would be informed to a candidate in the Call Letter / Admit Card issued to him / her.
