Railway Requirement Cell North Central Railway online applications are invited from Scouts & Guides persons having minimum educational and Scouts & Guides Qualification for recruitment in Grade Pay 1900 and 1800 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level - 02 & 01) against Scouts & Guides Quota 2017-18.

  1. Post : Group 'C'
  2. Scale of Pay as per 6th CPC : PB-l 5200-20200/- with corre-sponding Grade Pay - 1900/- (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-02)
  3. No of Post : 2(Two)
  4. Distribution : Over North Central Railway
    • The candidate may apply for Grade Pay 1900 (Pay Matrix Level - 02) or Grade Pay 1800 (Pay Matrix Level - 01) or both.
    • The quota is open to all candidates provided that he/she is fulfilling the prescribed norms.

Note : Candidates willing to apply for both the categories should fill / tick both the categories while applying. Examination fee, as applicable, has to be paid separately for both the category.

Educational Qualification for RRC North Central Railway Group 'C' Recruitment 2017

  1. For GP 1900/- (Pay Matrix Level - 02) : The candidate should have minimum qualification of Intermediate or equivalent examination passed with 50% aggregate from any recognized Board / University. The condition of 50% marks is not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/Ex. Servicemen.
    • For Technical Posts candidate shall be passed out Act Apprenticeship / ITI. Certificate of Act Apprenticeship/ITI must be approved by SCVT/NCVT.
  2. For GP 1800/-(Pay Matrix Level - 01) : The candidate should have minimum qualification of 10th pass or ITI or equivalent examination passed from any recognized Board.

Minimum Scouts & Guides Qualification for RRC North Central Railway Group 'C' Post : The candidate should possess the following certificates in support of his/her Scouts & Guides qualification :

  1. A President's Scout/Guide/Ranger/Rover OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) Holder in any section;
  2. Should have been an active member of a Scouts organization for at least 5 years. The 'Certificate of Activeness' should be as per Annexure 'C and
  3. Should have attended two event at National level OR All India Railways' level AND Two events at State level.

RRC North Central Railway Group 'C' Age Limit 2017 :

  1. Candidates applying for Grade Pay 1900 (Pay Matrix Level - 02) i.e. Catg. No. 1 should be aged between 18 to 28 as on 01.01.2018. (i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1990 and not later than 01.01.2000)
  2. Candidates applying for Grade Pay 1800 (Pay Matrix Level - 01) i.e. Catg. No. 2 should be aged between 18 to 31 as on 01.01.2018. (i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1987 and not later than 01.01.2000)

Relaxation of Age : The upper age limit is relaxable as under subject to submission of requisite certificate.

Category - Relaxation of Age

    • SC/ST - 05 Years
    • OBC - 03 Years
    • Physically Handicapped - 10 Years Provided the post is identified as suitable for PWDs

Serving Employees-For the serving Railway staff and casual labours / substitutes, the relaxation in upper age limits will be upto 40 years for Unreserved candidates, 43 years for OBC candidates and 45 years for SC/ST candidates, provided that they have put in a minimum of 3 years service. For those working in Quasi Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes, the relaxation in upper age limits will be up to the length of service rendered subject to maximum 5 years.

  • Widows/Divorced judicially separated women - Widows/Divorced/judicially separated women who are not remarried, up to the age of 35 years for Unreserved, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST candidates. (In this regard Hon'ble court order is necessary).
  • J&K-persons - who had ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu & J&K-persons Kashmir during the period from 1st January, 1980 to 31 st December 1989 up to 5 years.

RRC North Central Railway Group 'C' Mode of Selection 2017

Recruitment should be done at the Zonal Administration level. The candidates, who apply in response to the notification and are found eligible for consideration for appointment against Scouts & Guides quota, shall be assessed on the basis of following criteria.

  1. The Written test will consist of 40 Objective Question (40 marks) & 1 essay Type Question (10 marks) relating to Scouts & Guides Organization and its activities and General Knowledge for Grade Pay 1900/- (Pay Matrix Level - 02) and Grade Pay 1800/- (Pay Matrix Level - 01) - 50 Marks
  2. Scouting Skill Assessment A Skill Assessment Committee will assess the practical ability of the candidates. - 10 Marks
  3. Marks on Certificates - 40 Marks

(1) Participation / Service rendered in National Events / National Jamboree (including All India Railway Events) : 10 Marks

  • First Two Certificates (i.e. minimum eligibility qualification).- Nil
  • One additional event - 07 Marks
  • Two or more additional event - 10 Marks

(2) Participation / Service rende-red in State Events/Rallies - 10 Marks

  • First Two Certificates (i.e. NIL minimum eligibility qualification).
  • One additional event - 07 Marks
  • Two or more additional event - 10 Marks

(3) Specialized Scout / Guides course organized at National / State / All India Railways level - 10 Marks

  • One course - 07 Marks
  • Two or more course - 10 Marks

RRC North Central Railway Group 'C' Examination Fee 2017

  1. For all candidates except those 500/- (Rupee Five Hundred Only)
  2. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes 7250 ((Rupee Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the written examination.
  3. Economically Backward Classes candidates means those whose annual family income is less than 50,000/. They have to upload EBC certificate on prescribed format.
  4. The examination fee is non-refundable. It should be paid online using internet banking or debit/credit cards (service charges apply for all which will be borne by the candidates). Applications not accompanied with examination fee, wherever required, will be summarily rejected.
