Qualifications for TNPSC Group 1 Examination 2013 :
(A) Age Limit for TNPSC Group I Recruitment 2013 ( as on 01.07.2012 ) :

(i) “ Others ” Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC (A) s, STs, MBCs / DCs, BCs and BCMs who have put in 5 years of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even if they are within the age limit.
(ii) The Technical and Non Technical Staff of TANSI who have faced retrenchment and have not been absorbed in the Government Corporations / Undertakings evidence should be produced may also apply, if they are otherwise qualified except age and the relevant age rule will be relaxed by the Government in their favour if they come up for selection.
(B) Educational Qualification for TNPSC Group I Jobs 2012 ( as on 16.11.2012 ) :
Candidates should possess a Degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or any other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
(i) The qualification prescribed above should have been obtained by passing the required degree course in the order of studies 10th, HSC and Bachelor’s degree.
(ii) The Candidates, who have written the final year degree examination, may also apply to the Preliminary Examination for direct recruitment to the posts included in Group I Services, subject to the condition that they should produce proof of having passed the degree examination when admitted to the Main Written Examination, failing which they will not be admitted to the TNPSC Main Written Examination 2012.
(iii) The Candidates, who have passed the final professional M.B.B.S or any other TNPSC Medical Examination, but have not completed the internship, may also apply to the Preliminary Examination for direct recruitment to the posts included in Group I Services provided they should submit along with their applications for Main Written Examination a copy of Certificate from the concerned authority of the University / Institution that they had passed the requisite final professional Medical examination. In such cases, the candidates will be required to produce at the time of their Interview, original degree or a Certificate from the concerned competent authority of the University / Institution that they had completed all requirements ( including completion of internship ) for the award of the Degree.
(iv) Persons claiming equivalence of qualification should furnish evidence for such claim, if called for.
Provided that, other things being equal preference will be given to the candidates, who possess the qualification mentioned against each of the following posts :

Candidates to be admitted to the TNPSC Main Written Examination should upload evidence relating to preferential qualifications, if any, possessed by them when called for.
C. Physical Qualification for TNPSC Group I Exam 2012 :
Candidates applying for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police ( Category – I ) must possess the following Physical qualifications :
For Men :
Height : Not less than 165 Cms.
Chest : Measurement Not less than 86 Cms ( round the chest ) on full inspiration.
Chest : expansion Not less than 5 Cms on full inspiration.
For Women :
Height : Not less than 155 Cms.
Chest : Measurement Not applicable.
(i) Among the candidates admitted to the Main written Examination those who opt for the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police ( Category – I ) should upload Certificate from a Medical Officer of / or above the rank of an Assistant Surgeon appointed by the Government to the Government Medical Institution obtained on or after 16.11.2012 containing the following particulars when called for :

(c) Difference ( Expansion ).
However, in the case of woman applicants for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police ( Category – I ), the Chest measurement need not be specified in the said certificate.
(ii) An applicant selected for appointment to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police ( Category – I ) must satisfy the Medical Board in Tamil Nadu as to his / her physique, fitness and capacity for active outdoor work and must be certified by the Superintendent of Government Opthalmic Hospital, Chennai that his / her vision comes upto the requirements prescribed in the rules without the use of contact glasses.
(iii) An applicant selected for appointment to the post of Deputy Collector must satisfy the Medical Board in Tamil Nadu as to his / her physique, fitness and capacity for active outdoor work.
